PD Home and Garden is a wholesale home décor company offering a wide assortment across kitchen, entertaining, furniture, soft goods, home accents, garden, and outdoor categories. Founded in 2009, the company serves customers across 49 U.S. states as well as select international markets including the Caribbean. The challenge – When legacy systems limited speed and flexibility
Before WizCommerce, PD Home relied on an on-premise order writing system that created friction during trade shows and day-to-day selling. Orders taken on one device were locked to that specific iPad. If a customer stepped away and returned later, the rep had to locate the exact same device to continue the order.
Offline interruptions added further risk. If connectivity dropped, there was concern about losing progress or data. At the time, these limitations felt manageable, but as the business grew, they became a real bottleneck.
The website posed an even bigger risk. PD Home was informed that its existing ecommerce provider was shutting down, forcing the team to scramble for an alternative. After spending nearly a year implementing a replacement, they discovered it could not integrate with their backend systems. The entire effort had to be abandoned.

The turning point – Rebuilding on a cloud-based foundation

The integration ensured orders flowed cleanly into Fishbowl without manual intervention, which reduced errors and gave the team confidence that inventory levels and fulfillment data were accurate. As a result, sales teams could trust the system instead of double-checking information or relying on workarounds.
For the website, WizCommerce delivered what had previously seemed impossible. In a matter of weeks, the team replicated PD Home’s existing site almost exactly, migrated all products and customer data, and launched a fully integrated B2B storefront in under a month.

Supporting discovery and incremental growth with AI
AI plays a valuable role in PD Home’s new workflow. On the ecommerce side, recommended and similar item suggestions help customers discover complementary products as they browse. While not every buyer actively uses these features, they contribute to incremental revenue and a smoother shopping experience.
Internally, AI-driven suggestions reduce friction when customers move between categories, helping them navigate large assortments more efficiently.

Results – Faster selling, higher confidence, and a website customers prefer
After migrating to WizCommerce, PD Home saw tangible improvements across sales and ecommerce. Order entry became faster, with the team estimating a roughly 25% reduction in time spent entering and managing orders due to cloud-based continuity and offline reliability.
Customers responded positively to the new website. Navigation became easier, page speed improved, and the process of adding items to cart and returning to categories was noticeably faster. Independent retailers, whose time is limited, could place orders quickly or save carts and return later without losing progress.PD Home also saw a meaningful increase in sales after launch.
